A refined Moser Karlsbad crystal decanter set designed by Rudolf Eschler, one of the most elegant modernist forms created for the Moser glassworks.
The model known as “Bar”, introduced in 1934, beautifully combines geometric and organic forms: a square-cut base rises into a rounded body with deeply cut facets that capture and refract light with remarkable clarity.
The set consists of:
• a crystal decanter with original stopper
• six matching glasses
The glass is rendered in a warm topaz tone, one of the classic colors used by Moser. The crystal is heavy, perfectly transparent, and expertly hand-cut, demonstrating the precision and craftsmanship for which Moser Karlsbad is internationally renowned.
The base bears the Moser Karlsbad mark, confirming its origin.
While the design dates to the Art Deco period of the 1930s, this example was most likely produced later in the mid-20th century, when many of Moser’s successful designs continued to be manufactured.
The original hand-ground stopper remains well fitted, requiring a gentle twist and slight pull to remove — a typical characteristic of properly matched crystal stoppers.
Very good vintage condition.
Tiny flea bites are present on the edge of one glass and on a few base edges, and a small flea bite is visible on the stopper. These minor signs of age are typical for vintage cut crystal and do not affect the beauty or functionality of the set.
Photographs were taken in strong light to show not only the beauty of the crystal but also its true condition.
