A beautifully shaped vintage Czech art glass basket, created around 1970 and attributed to the Skrdlovice glassworks, with probable design by Karel Žemek.
This sculptural piece showcases the sommerso (submerged glass) technique — layers of amber, blue, and green glass encased within clear crystal. The form, both organic and balanced, highlights the harmony of color and the fluidity of molten glass in motion.
The basket represents the spirit of Czechoslovak modernist glass design of the 1960s–70s, known for its experimentation with color transitions and sculptural abstraction.
Each piece was hand-blown, making every example unique in proportion and tonal balance.
