Czechoslovak Art Deco Pink Rosaline Glass Vanity Set, Perfume Bottle & Powder Box, 1930s

A striking two-piece Czechoslovak Art Deco vanity set, probably dating from the 1930s.

Made in soft rose-pink glass. The broad perfume bottle, sharply cut outer planes and distinctive faceted stopper create an architectural silhouette with clear Functionalist and Cubist influences characteristic of interwar Central European design.

The set consists of a perfume bottle with its original stopper and a matching lidded powder / trinket box.

The exact maker is unknown. The form and workmanship are consistent with interwar Czechoslovak decorative glass production, but no specific workshop attribution is made.

Condition

The perfume bottle is in very good original vintage condition, with light wear to the base, some interior residue and normal age-related traces of use. An internal glassmaking swirl is visible within the stopper.

The powder box has been professionally restored. Chips along the rim of both the base and lid were ground and polished during restoration. The area of the largest former chip remains visible on close inspection. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.

Powder box: 6.5 cm / 2.56 in high with lid; 4 cm / 1.57 in without lid; base 6.3 × 8.5 cm / 2.48 × 3.35 in; top approx. 5 × 5 cm / 1.97 × 1.97 in.
